Chris Casamassa

Dreth: First of all, hello Chris. And secondly, let me speak on behalf of everyone in the whole MKC community, we appreciate you taking the time to grant us an interview.
Chris, I’ve read in your personal web site that you’ve been selected to play Scorpion in the upcoming movie MK: Devastation, does this mean the crew has begun filming?

Chris: NO, THEY HAVE BEGUN THE PRE-PRODUCTION STAGE, WHICH MEANS SCOUTING LOCATIONS, HIRING FILM CREWS ETC.

Dreth: Did they personally resort to you to re-take your role as the yellow ninja, or did you contact them?

Chris: A LITTLE BIT OF BOTH- I HAVE A GREAT WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THRESHOLD ENTERTAINMENT- I AM ALWAYS HAPPY TO WORK WITH THEM ON THE PROJECTS THEY HAVE. THEY WERE VERY HAPPY WITH MY WORK IN MK 1 (MK 2 WAS NOT ME) HOWEVER, I DID HAVE TO AUDITION TO GET MY ROLE BACK IN THE MKC SERIES

Dreth: Can you disclose any juicy details on the movie?

Chris: I AM SWORN TO SECRECY- BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT SCORPION IS GOING TO BE VERY VERY ANGRY………….

Dreth: Was your experience working in Mortal Kombat The Movie better than Mortal Kombat Conquest, or vice-versa?

Chris: FOR ME THEY WERE BOTH GREAT EXPERIENCES- THE FILM WAS MY FIRST BIG TIME ROLE -SO THAT WAS VERY EXCITING FOR ME. THE SERIES WAS GREAT FUN BECAUSE WE SHOT IN FLORIDA AND MANY OF THE CREW FROM THE FILM WERE THERE. THE SERIES WAS GREAT ALSO BECAUSE IN THE FIRST TWO EPISODES THERE WAS NO MASK- AND PEOPLE GOT TO LEARN THE ORIGINS OF SCORPION

Dreth: Did you enjoy being Scorpion in Mortal Kombat Conquest? Were you looking forward a second season of the series?

Chris: YES AND YES

Dreth: Do you think a second season of the show would be possible, even after so many years have passed? Many fans would like this to happen.

Chris: IN TV ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE- KEEP WRITING FAN LETTERS TO THE PRODUCTION COMPANIES AND THE NETWORKS. FANS HAVE MORE POWER THAN THEY THINK!

Dreth: Do you keep in touch with any of the actors from either the movie or the TV series?

Chris: SOMETIMES WE ALL LEAD VERY BUSY LIVES BUT ME , J. J. PERRY, PAOLO, AND DANIEL DO SEE EACH OTHER FROM TIME TO TIME

Dreth: After so much ‘Mortal Kombat’ in your life, have you played the games? If so, which one is your favorite from the whole franchise?

Chris: WELL WHEN I FIRST GOT INTO THE GAME IT WAS RAYDEN AND SCORPION. THAT IS WHY IT WAS SUCH AN HONOR FOR ME TO PLAY HIM IN THE FILM AND TV SERIES I WAS AND STILL AM A HUGE FAN!

Member of the forums Conquest asks the following questions:

How did he feel about J. J. Perry (Sub-Zero) ? Was it fun working with him, or did he have trouble getting the chemistry together for their fight?

J. J. IS GREAT- WE HIT IT OFF RIGHT AWAY- HE IS AN AMAZING MARTIAL ARTIST AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME WORKING TOGETHER.

Dreth: Alright Chris, we like to thank you for giving us this small interview, good luck on your career.

THANKS

Chris Casamassa
